LINE/PREP COOK

JOb DESCRIPTION

Hood Famous Cafe + Bar (Chinatown-International District) is looking for a part-time (15-20 hours/week) Line/Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate has at least two years of back-of-house food service experience, is a quick learner, and works well both independently and alongside others. Familiarity with Filipino cuisine and the Chinatown-International District neighborhood is a plus.

To be considered for this position you must

  • Be extremely punctual

  • Follow precise directions consistently and efficiently

  • Listen and communicate effectively in a team environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 21+ years or older

  • Must hold current MAST & Food Handler’s permits

  • 2 years professional kitchen experience preferred

  • Flexible schedule to work evenings and weekend shifts

  • Ability to stand on your feet for 5+ hours (with breaks)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prep for menu items

  • Assist with creating in-house ingredients (syrups, pickles, etc)

  • Pick-up and plate dishes during service

  • Wash dishes and maintain clean kitchen throughout shift

  • Kitchen equipment cleaning and maintenance

  • Follow opening and/or closing procedures

  • Other duties as assigned, including serving

COMPENSATION

  • Hourly; base pay $14 per hour (DOE based on experience). Average pay $16-$22 per hour with tips.

  • Monthly in-store food and beverage credit and discounts on merchandise
