LEAD BARISTA
JOb DESCRIPTION
Hood Famous Bakeshop is looking for enthusiastic full-time lead barista to oversee the implementation of our coffee program, greet customers, make coffee and other specialized drinks, and support food prep and baking as we expand into our second location: Hood Famous Cafe + Bar in Chinatown-International District (C-ID).
This position staffs the retail counter in our C-ID location and is responsible for providing great service and good vibes only during every shift. They ring up customers, take orders, provide information about our desserts and company, create drinks, work with the team to keep operations silky smooth, and, most importantly, provide awesome hospitality.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21+ years or older
Barista experience required
Coffee program development and food service experience preferred
Time-management and organization in a fast-paced environment
Excellent teamwork ethic, problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail
Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends
Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis
Ability to stand on your feet for 5+ hours
Must hold valid food handler’s permit
We will also begin serving alcohol, so having a valid and current MAST permit would be helpful, but not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Hospitality
Deliver exceptional service
Possess strong communication skills to be able to:
Make appropriate menu suggestions
Take orders, operate POS and cash handling procedures accurately
Demonstrate knowledge of relevant products and services
Drinks, Baking, and Food Prep
Prepare hot and cold drinks in accordance with customers needs
Stock and take inventory of ingredients
Provide technical guidance to new team members and assist in training
Light baking (cookies, tarts, etc)
Help prep for baked and cooked foods
Bakery and Cafe Maintenance
Keep retail displays stocked and stylized with goods and merchandise
Wash trays and other dishes throughout shift
Maintain a clean and safe environment: wipe down surfaces, sweep, etc
Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
Follow opening and closing procedures
Other duties as assigned
Brand Ambassadorship
Share Hood Famous Bakeshop’s history and recent/upcoming news
Educate customers on ingredients and flavor profiles
Direct customers to the different services we offer and how to reach us
COMPENSATION
Hourly; base pay $14 per hour (DOE) + tips. Average pay $17-22 per hour with tips.
