Kitchen Support Staff
(Seasonal)

JOb DESCRIPTION

Hood Famous Bakeshop (Ballard) is seeking to hire enthusiastic Kitchen Support Staff to join our team as we enter into the 2019 holiday season. We are looking for dependable staff to help with de-panning cheesecakes, scooping cookies, and support with light baking prep. This position is a low-key, seasonal, part-time evening position (with an opportunity to become a permanent position), 2-3 days per week, approximately 4 hours per shift—great for a student or a second position.

We are a small scale production environment that has been wholesaling for five years and currently operate two retail locations. Our ideal candidate is reliable, possesses strong verbal/written communication skills,and must be able to work independently. As our company continues to grow, we are seeking creative, passionate, and loyal individuals to be a part of our team. Experience is not necessary but a passion for baking and/or familiarity with Filipino flavors is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6 months to 1 year kitchen experience preferred

  • Must hold valid food handler’s permit

  • Strong communication skills, positive attitude and team-focused mentality 

  • Reliable, punctual, and must be available to work some weekends 

  • Ability to lift 30lbs 

  • Ability to stand on your feet for 4+ hours

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Baking Production and Prep

    • De-panning cheesecakes according to company established standards

    • Scoop cookie dough 

    • Light baking prep (i.e. weighing out sugar, flour, etc)

    • Packing and storage of products to allow for FIFO (first in first out)

    • Quality control of products prior to storage

    • Correctly label products and inventory 

    • Wash dishes 

    • Maintain a clean and safe environment: wipe down surfaces, sweep, mop, and take out garbage

    • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and report any concerns to supervisor 

    • Follow opening and closing procedures

  • Brand Ambassadorship

    • Adhere to company’s core values

    • Share Hood Famous Bakeshop’s history and recent/upcoming news

COMPENSATION

  • DOE, $15/hour starting wage + tips 

  • Monthly in-store food and beverage credit and discounts on merchandise

We are looking for someone who can adapt well to different situations. Good time management skills and positive attitudes, while working independently and alongside a team, are a must.
